terms
Terms, in plain English
Smartlink is a link shortener run by one person in Greece. These terms set out what we expect of you, what you can expect of us, and how billing works. Last updated: October 2026.
Who we are
Smartlink is operated by Athanasia Lykoudi, based in Greece. By creating an account or using a Smartlink you agree to these terms. Questions about them go to a.lykoudi@gmail.com.
Acceptable use
Smartlinks must point at content you have the right to share. Please don't use Smartlink to:
- Send spam — bulk or unsolicited messages, or links shared to inflate a campaign you don't run.
- Phish or deceive — pretend to be someone else, or hide where a link actually goes so people can be tricked into giving up credentials, money, or personal data.
- Distribute malware — viruses, exploit kits, drive-by downloads, or anything that damages a visitor's device or accounts.
- Drive automated traffic — bots, scripts, click farms, or other automation that inflates click counts. Smartlink is built for real people opening real links.
- Host illegal content — anything unlawful in Greece or the country you're in, including content that harms minors.
Smartlink is made for creators sharing their own work. If a link breaks these rules, we can act on it.
Fair use on Pro
Pro includes unlimited Smartlinks and up to 100,000 tracked clicks per month. That ceiling exists to keep the service fast and affordable for creators, not to limit anyone's growth.
- If you approach the cap, we'll tell you rather than cut you off mid-campaign.
- Consistently above it usually means automation or an unusually large distribution — write to us and we'll find a fair arrangement before anything changes on your account.
- Clicks inflated by bots don't count as legitimate traffic and may be filtered from your analytics.
Free plans have their own limits, listed on the pricing page.
Billing and cancellation
- Monthly billing — Pro is €12 per month, charged at the start of each billing period. Prices are shown excluding tax unless stated otherwise.
- Cancel any time — cancellation happens in your account and takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for. No notice period, no cancellation fee.
- Payments are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
- Refunds — if something goes wrong with a charge, email us and we'll make it right.
If we raise prices, we'll give you notice before it affects your subscription.
When we have to step in
We can pause, disable, or delete a Smartlink — or, in serious cases, an account — when it's used for spam, phishing, malware, bot traffic, or anything else illegal or clearly abusive. Wherever we can, we'll tell you what happened and why, and you can reply at a.lykoudi@gmail.com to fix it or appeal.
We're not monitoring your links proactively. We act on reports, on abuse notices, and on traffic that is obviously not human.
Your links, your responsibility
You keep ownership of the content behind your links. You're responsible for making sure the destinations you shorten are lawful and that you have the rights to share them. If a third party complains about a destination, that's between you and them — we'll help with the Smartlink side of it.
No guarantees
Smartlink is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We aim for it to work all the time, but short links depend on other services — social apps, browsers, and the platforms we hand off to — and those change without warning.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost revenue, lost traffic, or lost data arising from your use of Smartlink. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or intentional wrongdoing.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that affects you, we'll say so on this page and give you reasonable notice before continuing to use the service counts as accepting the update.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Greece, and the courts of Greece have jurisdiction over any dispute. That doesn't take away any mandatory consumer protections you have in your own country.
